| This is GC Rainkey's Windrider. To me this is the
Somali I see in my mind's eye when I think of the perfect
Somali head. His eyes captivate me, his ear set is not too
extreme, just right. His muzzle is neither too boxish,
blown or snippy. The white on his chin and nostrils is
snowy. Brick red nose leather with good black marking.
This is a face that adds up to more than the sum of its
individual parts. It is a good thing that I cannot see his front legs which Sheila tells me were barred to a degree. Windrider was SCCA's Best Somali 82-83, CFA Best Somali 82-83, CFA NW Regional 8th Best Cat, AA 2nd Best Somali, TICA's Best Somali, TICA National 20th Best Cat, Sire of: GC Rainkey's Moonraider (CFA BEST Somali 84), and GC Zarpa's Durango Best Somali CFA 86. Windrider was also sire to GP Rainkey's Satin Song of Lynn-Lee, CH Zarpa's Sarita of Mabuhay, DM (mother of 5 grand litter) and Rainkey's Ladylove of Purring Fox. He was born on November 22, 1981 out of Nephrani's Sirocco of Rainkey and Foxtail's Annie Get your Gun. Windrider unfortunately died several years ago from an infection brought on by an abscessed tooth that a veterinarian did not want to remove. |
